Off-street parking can be a make-or-break feature for city dwellers in the market for real estate. A new app developed in South Baltimore is looking to make the search easier by flagging homes that come with a place to stash your car.
ParkRE, a free app, is set to launch later this month, and will immediately allow searching in the Baltimore area.
The app includes an interactive map that shows houses with off-street parking, and features filters that sort houses down to whether they have driveways, parking pads or garages.
Using beacons placed in listed homes, the app can also alert potential buyers when they are near a house that has off-street parking. Beacons aren’t in every home yet, but the app is designed to develop increased capability along with the technology.
Additional features are designed to allow browsers to connect with realtors.
ParkRE was c0-founded by Ronald Monk and Nick Hardisty, realtors at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty. The technology was developed by Mindgrub Technologies, which worked with MRIS.
The app is currently undergoing the approval process with the App Store. It’s slated to launch for iOS and Android in mid-March.
