OpenTable opted to test a new feature in Baltimore.

While it’s just the latest consumer-facing app with national reach to pinpoint Baltimore, OpenTable’s choice may say just as much about the city’s growing restaurant scene.
The idea of finding restaurants through specials also has local precedent. Finding deals is core to the ETC-based Loople’s “bar and restaurant search engine,” but that app focuses on nightlife and events as well as restaurants.
