The weather has claimed another September block party. NextFab Wilmington’s one-year anniversary party, #OneYearInTheMaking, originally planned for Sept. 13, has been postponed until Oct. 11.
Located in downtown’s Creative District, the Philadelphia-based NextFab made its Delaware debut in the summer of ’17. In the short time since then, the makerspace has become a major part of the city’s creative and entrepreneurship communities, offering a space to make things — from the Wilmington Green Box kiosk to the Dew Point Brewing tap handles.
In partnership with the Delaware College of Art & Design, the Delaware Humane Association and the Wilmington Renaissance Corporation, NextFab will celebrate it’s first year in Wilmington with an event that will include a festival-style block party with local craft beer, food trucks and live music, as well as interactive exhibits, a DCAD art show and tours of the space.
RSVPAs part of the celebration, NextFab is offering a free month of membership to qualified attendees, allowing access to its digital technology, traditional tools, software and classes.
The events starts at 4 p.m. on the 500 block of North Tatnall and inside NextFab; free parking will be provided by Colonial Parking in the adjacent lot.
