Wish you had time in your schedule to take a music class? If you’re a Wilmington University student, you can now add one to your schedule and get credit for it toward your degree.
The Music School of Delaware, a nationally accredited, statewide nonprofit, has a new partnership with WilmU that will make college-level, for-credit courses available to enrolled students, as well as high school juniors and seniors seeking advanced credits.
The courses — Elements of Music (Music Theory) and Introduction to Piano — will be offered as fine arts or humanities electives.
“In keeping with our goal of providing students with learning opportunities by connecting with area businesses and organizations, we are pleased to partner with The Music School of Delaware,” said Danny Walker, Ed.D., chair of WilmU Philosophy & Arts, in a press statement. “We look forward to expanding awareness of and continuing to build this partnership to promote quality music education in our area.”
Students will have the opportunity to study at the Music School’s Wilmington branch under faculty members J. Andrew Dickinson or Joan Fasullo, with each course including a 30-minute lab.
Enrollment for the courses is open until Sept. 10. For more info, call 302-762-1132.
