Drones as a service company Measure recently expanded the industries that could benefit from its UAV expertise to include media and solar energy.
With a recent acquisition, the company is looking to add to its in-house capabilities to customize drones.
On Aug. 3, Measure announced the acquisition of Pilatus Unmanned. Terms were not disclosed.
Pilatus Unmanned focuses on creating custom drones. So the deal adds in-house engineering. Measure is opening a new facility in Huntington Beach, Calif. Additionally, Pilatus Unmanned’s former CEO Josh Kornoff is now the head of engineering for Measure. He’ll also oversee Mesaure’s toolkits, like the recently-released offering that helps broadcast news organizations get that drone footage.
“Expanding our engineering capacity and our ability to provide one-stop shopping for equipment and toolkits will help ensure that we can offer our customers solutions that are truly comprehensive,” Measure CEO Brandon Torres Declet said in a statement announcing the deal.
The deal comes amid a busy year for the company, which closed a $15 million Series B to start it off in January.
