After running a story earlier this week about “Maximum Apocalypse,” a cooperative “roguelike” adventure board game, and its Kickstarter campaign, we caught a quick word from its creator. That man is Mike Gnade of Wilmington, and he founded game studio Rock Manor Games.
Since then, “Maximum Apocalypse” met and exceeded its funding goal of $14,700. As of this writing, the game has raised $15,574.
We asked Gnade a simple question: Why should we play”Maximum Apocalypse” at our weekly game night?
Gnade told us that”Maximum Apocalypse” will have us crafting “an interesting story and memorable experience with friends.” Anyone who’s hosted a game night knows that titles with a steep learning curve can cause friction, but Gnade explained that this one is “easy to learn, but fraught with tough decisions.”
Then he told us that “you may even end up chanting ‘Corpse in the Van’ like one group up in Boston did as they all died at the last minute.”
Thanks to the Kickstarter Campaign’s success, we may have the chance to learn what “Corpse in the Van” actually means.”Maximum Apocalypse” has an estimated delivery of May 2018.
