BAE Systems acquires assets from Riptide Autonomous Solutions
Arlington, Va.-based BAE Systems has acquired key assets from Massachusetts-based Riptide Autonomous Solutions, unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) tech and solutions provider. The Arlington-based U.S. arm of the international defense, aerospace and security giant will welcome Riptide employees to its electronic systems sector, where they will continue to mature its small UUV products.
“Coupling our extensive expertise in sonar, signal processing, sensor fusion, undersea communications, electronic warfare, and autonomous systems with Riptide’s unique UUV platforms will enable us to affordably address rapidly expanding maritime mission requirements in the global defense, commercial, and research markets,” Terry Crimmins, president of BAE Systems Electronic Systems, said in a statement.
Financial terms of the deal and further details on the acquired assets were not disclosed, but BAE Systems said in the news release that it will maintain Riptide’s Massachusetts office to expand its footprint there.

Uniphy’s mobile and desktop apps have reached over 900,000 clinicians, the press release states. Both companies already have customers who use both of its solutions, so the merger makes sense.
“We have worked with Harris Healthcare and Uniphy Health for over 10 years and they both have been fantastic partners. I am delighted by this news,” Dr. Wayne Fellmeth, Hunterdon Healthcare’s CMIO, said in a statement. “We integrated the Uniphy Health and Harris QCPR (EHR) three years ago. It was easily implemented and this has been delivering positive outcomes for our patients.”
Both companies will continue to work to create tech solutions to improve healthcare outcomes, collaboration and communication. Uniphy will continue its work under Harris Healthcare, with no immediate staffing changes.
