This Tuesday, there’s no excuse not to vote. Lyft, Uber and Zipcar will all be offering promotions to make it easier and cheaper to go cast your ballot.
With companies giving time off to vote, the last big hurdle for many people is transportation to and from the polls. Additional low-cost options in the DMV area certainly can’t hurt.

Zipcar is offering free cars from 6-10 p.m., for all users, in all locations. Check out this map for all the Zipcar locations in D.C., or search for other locations. For more details on which cars are included in the promotion, check out Zipcar’s page on #drivethevote.
The catch? It’s a limited-supply promotion, so users will have to book quickly before the free cars are reserved.

Both Uber and Lyft have partnered with Google to use the search engine’s Civil Information API to create a map of polling places, according to USA Today. Users will be able to locate the nearest polling station, as well as general information, in the Uber and Lyft apps before requesting their ride. Uber and Lyft will also feature in-app reminders to vote.
In Pennsylvania, voters get free rides from Lyft and Uber thanks to the super PAC Ride My Vote. Here in the DMV area, fares are not free, but there are some discounts.
Uber fares are discounted for new users. First time Uber users can save $20 off their first ride with the promo code VOTETODAY.
Similarly, new Lyft users can enter the promo code NOVEMBER8TH for $5 off their first 10 rides with the company.
