The City Loop Series (which includes the Octoberfest Loop this Friday, Sept. 22, the Halloween Loop, the Santa Crawl, the Shamrock Shuttle and the Cinco de Mayo Loop) brings throngs of people to Wilmington to party at popular pubs in Trolley Square, Union Street, Downtown and on the Riverfront.
If you haven’t experienced one of the loops, it basically involves putting on a costume, going to a participating pub and paying a fee for a wristband that allows you to hop on a shuttle and hit spots all over the city.
The shuttle (actually multiple school buses) is an integral part of the Loop that safely transports inebriated revelers from spot to spot.
After the Loop was over? Partiers, after a night of drinking, had to find their own way home.
This year, the Loops will offer the next best thing to shuttles home — through a new partnership with Lyft, patrons will have a special code on their wristbands that will entitle them to discounted fares on Loop night.

Lyft drivers, prepare for a busy night — may your after-Loop passengers remember to tip well.
