The stretch of North 3rd Street that runs through Old City and Northern Liberties, known as N3rd Street for its clustering of tech businesses and immortalized thus in 2014 with an official street sign, is getting a new breakfast meetup called N3rd Street Breakfast Bar.
A longtime resident of the corridor and a newcomer are partnering to make it happen: Old City coworking spot Indy Hall and cloud services company Linode, which was formerly headquartered in Haddonfield, N.J., but is now formally Philly HQ’d and in the process of moving into the four story, 15,000-square-foot Real World Philadelphia house on Arch Street.
Jamie Zale, Linode’s events manager, reached out to neighbors Indy Hall to see how the cloud services company could support meetups in the community.
“I really got the sense that they cared a lot about being actively involved in the ways they support,” said Indy Hall’s Alex Hillman. “They were intentional about choosing to locate in Old City and on N3rd Street. We brainstormed a few options and decided to start with something that would help bring our N3rd Street neighbors together and put names to the faces we see on the street all the time.”
RSVP(P.S. If you do head over to the event, be sure to ask about the Phillytron.)
So why breakfast? Hillman said the happy hour tradition was getting a bit crowded, so they’re trying something different.
“Don’t worry, we still love you, National Mechanics,” said Hillman, a longtime karaoke balladeer.
