“Life finds a way.” It was true in Jurassic Park, and it’s true today in Pittsburgh, where life sciences startup accelerator LifeX Labs is helping turn biotech research into marketable, life-saving products.

The ultimate goal of life science research is to find new, innovative medical treatments, cures and devices. The challenge is the exorbitant price of a notoriously complicated and lengthy commercialization process.

LifeX Labs guides life science entrepreneurs through the process with resources, training and executive-level mentorship. Established in 2018 and based just outside the heart of the Pittsburgh Innovation District, the organization has a mission to work with the local life sciences community to develop promising research into market-ready products with the potential to advance medical innovation.

With a robust calendar of community events, a 14-week accelerator for nascent startups, and a residency incubator for “portfolio companies” ready to navigate the commercialization process, LifeX has quickly become a centralized hub for Pittsburgh’s life sciences community.
