The Delaware Small Business Development Center is hosting a workshop session Thursday on how to use the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program for helping with technical and scientific research. The program is federally funded and is dedicated to help small businesses develop cutting-edge technology-based products.
Ruth Shuman, the National Science Foundation SBIR program manager, will speak about how to apply for SBIR grants and submit competitive research proposals. At the National Science Foundation, she focuses on biological and biomedical technologies, and she has a particular interest in synthetic biology and metabolic engineering.
The event, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, will be at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, and a light breakfast will be served.
