Launch Workplaces, the network of coworking spaces owned by Edgewater, Md.-based The Brick Companies, announced that it has been contracted by Montgomery County to manage two local innovation centers.

Coined the Germantown Innovation Center and the Rockville Innovation Center, Launch Workplaces will manage the two business incubators’ communications, programming and portfolio management services, a press release states.

“Montgomery County’s Business Innovation Network offers the critical combination of business support services and highly flexible, modern workspaces to emerging entrepreneurs and companies,” Mike Kriel, CEO of Launch Workplaces, said in a statement. “Equally important is creating workspace that encourages collaboration and productivity. Launch Workplaces creates workspace communities that addresses all of these needs and we’re looking forward to helping even more Montgomery County entrepreneurs and small businesses.”

This isn’t the first time Launch Workplaces and Montgomery County are partnering. The pair teamed up last year for the first time when the five-year-old coworking brand remodeled and began managing the Silver Spring Innovation Center, a 20,000-square-foot space. This location, plus the two centers mentioned above, make up Montgomery County’s Business Innovation Network, an initiative the county launched to help startups and small businesses who work in the tech, cybersecurity, life sciences and professional services space.

The Germantown Innovation Center is located at 20271 Goldenrod Lane and is primarily fit for life sciences businesses since the center is equipped with wet labs. This 32,000-square-foot space features 45 offices, 12 wet labs, with a few conference rooms. The Rockville location is 23,000 square feet, with two floors and 45 offices that range from suites to flex office spaces.

Bisnow also reported that Launch Workplaces recently inked a deal with Washington Property Co. to open a coworking space at in Bethesda, Md., located at 6900 Wisconsin Ave.
