On Wednesday, October 10, at The Creative Alliance, we will host a conversation with prominent local organizations that have a role in the local development of job skills and identify resources to support your business growth.

Through stakeholder meetings and committee calls, we have heard a continuous call: There’s a need for a focused workforce development success strategy, aimed at bridging the skills gap in Baltimore’s workforce so that tech companies might have the chance to play a key role.
It got us thinking: Might be able to convene the community and focus our reporting and event series during Baltimore Innovation Week to engage in real talk around hiring, and create a call to action for local businesses to lead the charge for more intentional coordination and collaboration across education, job training and other supportive services, to drive economic growth with equity by sharing openly the challenges and the pathways to success that are specific to the tech industry in Baltimore and its surrounding counties?
Join us on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at The Creative Alliance as we host a conversation with prominent local organizations which have a role in the local development of job skills and identify resources to support your business growth at Hire Bmore: Developing a People Pipeline, an event part of Baltimore Innovation Week 2018 organized by Emerging Technology Centers.

What to expect:

Technology and productivity improvements are rapidly transforming the local workplace leading to an increased demand for a skilled and adaptable workforce. As Baltimore develops its R&D, advanced manufacturing, and innovation capacities, it also begins transitioning the city’s development prospects which will increasingly hinge on successful education and training programs to build, adapt, and validate. We’ll explore: What has been done already on the government level? What worked? What best practices can the tech sector take from these learnings and apply to building their own local pipeline strategy? What should be the goal and guidelines to these actions?
