Industrious is expanding into NoVa, announces 2 more DC-area locations

After expanding into Bethesda in September 2018, the coworking space is opening up its third regional location in Arlington next week. Two more are planned before the end of the year.

Move over, this coworking company is also making a big move into Northern Virginia this year.

Coworking space Industrious is opening Industrious Ballston Exchange in Arlington, Va., on Jan. 7 and has two additional Washington, D.C. area locations planned for NoVa, the company told Technical.ly, bringing a total of five regional locations by year-end.

This announcement comes after the coworking space opened Industrious Bethesda last September, Technical.ly DC reported ahead of the opening. The building this location is in, owned by JBG Smith, conveniently sits at the corner of Bethesda Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue, which features close access to Bethesda Row, the red line, and the site of the future purple line.

“Bethesda’s residents are pushing to evolve Bethesda’s ‘residential affluent neighborhood’ identity into that of a vibrant ‘urban suburb.’ We expect to see a movement of more restaurants and job opportunities come to the neighborhood,” Joyce Oh, Industrious area manager, told Technical.ly in an interview. “Coworking spaces help bring life to the above narrative. While coworking spaces exist in Bethesda, none focus quite so heavily on design and creating a polished experience for members as Industrious does.”

Bethesda’s building offers a complimentary gym with towel and shower service that is 24/7 accessible to all Industrious members. This location also partnered with two local shops to provide daily breakfast and coffee from Bethesda Bagels and Quartermaine Coffee.

Industrious Ballston Exchange will be the third D.C. area location for the coworking space and like its other spaces, this one will include a mix of private and collaborative spaces that cater to all types of work and individual preferences. The Ballston Exchange location will be located on the third floor at 4201 Wilson Blvd and will feature a gourmet breakfast from Bread and Chocolate, member wellness events, fast internet, unlimited printing, and more, according to the Industrious website.

Now of course, our minds instantly wander to half of Amazon‘s second headquarters also moving into Northern Virginia and how this opportunity will attract a lot of tech talent (25, 000 tech workers to be exact).

“We’re absolutely excited to welcome the additional tech workers that the Amazon wave is sure to bring,” Oh told us. “They can expect an elevated workspace and a warm, inviting community of like-minded professionals. Industrious is the perfect solution for any business seeking a productive work environment curated through an intentional design and hospitality staff.”

As you continue to see tech companies launch offices in NoVa, Technical.ly DC also recently reported on how Amazon’s move could affect the price of creative work spaces in the D.C. area.

The other two Industrious locations will be situated in Tysons in McLean, Va., opening on Feb. 11 located at 1660 International Drive, Suite 600, and at Alexandria Carlyle Tower in Alexandria, Va., in late-March located on the second floor at 2461 Eisenhower Ave, Oh told Technical.ly.
