Industrious adds two DC-area locations, inks deal for another NoVa space

The coworking company opened spaces in Alexandria and Tysons this month, bringing it to five operating D.C.-area locations. Plans are in motion to add more by year-end.

With more than 65 locations across 40 U.S. cities, Industrious is busy at work again launching more D.C. area offices.

Last time we checked in with the coworking company in January, it was expanding rapidly into Northern Virginia with the announcement of an Arlington, Va., location and plans to add two more to the area by year-end.

Since then, Industrious did open two more coworking spaces in Alexandria, Va., and Tysons in McLean, Va., this month. The company also inked an operating partnership with Carr Properties for another Arlington location at 2311 Wilson Boulevard. It’s set to open in the first quarter of 2020.

Industrious’s Alexandria location is on the second floor of the city’s Carlyle Tower building at 2461 Eisenhower Avenue. The coworking company signed an operating partnership at this location with Rubenstein Partners, a fund manager for a series of private equity funds focused on office investments. Some of the amenities at the 23,000-square-foot space include a service team, wellness rooms, craft coffees, conference and phone rooms, fresh fruit served daily and unlimited free printing. A community membership starts at $464 a month and private offices start at $738 monthly.

It’s clear the company is interested in the NoVa region because half of Amazon‘s second headquarters is also moving into the region and how this opportunity is expected to attract 25,000 tech workers.

“Our increasing NoVa presence well-positions Industrious to accommodate business growth and development across the region as we begin to see the Amazon effect take place. Each location is thoughtfully-selected to be in a desirable workplace destination that is easily accessible and highly-amenitized,” Joyce Oh, Industrious’ Mid Atlantic area manager, said in a statement.

The Tysons location spans nearly 26,000 square feet and can accommodate space for coworking and private offices for different sized teams. The coworking space situated at 1660 International Drive, Suite 600, is a Class A building with similar amenities to the Carlyle Tower location. A private office at this location starts at $720 a month.

For the second Arlington location in partnership with Carr Properties, Industrious will occupy the entire third floor of the building, totaling 25,000 square feet of space.

“Industrious’s passion and commitment to hospitality completely syncs with the new Carr Experience and our dedication to an unrivaled experience in our buildings. The Carr-Industrious partnership at 2311 Wilson, together with Carr’s upcoming retail offerings of SolidCore and ForFive Coffee, ensures a dynamic, vibrant environment for our customers at 2311 Wilson,” Jackson Prentice, senior VP of portfolio management at Carr Properties said in a statement.

This location, too, will offer coworking and private offices. But if you can’t wait until 2020 for this one, check out our 2019 comprehensive coworking spaces guide for more options.
