Wilmington-based Incyte is now among the 500 most-held stocks on the NYSE. It’s officially one of only two S&P 500 companies in Delaware.
The other? DuPont.
Incyte is a pharmaceutical research company with headquarters on Augustine Cutoff near Alapocas Park in Wilmington. The company’s main focus in biopharmaceutical research and development is in oncology, or the study and treatment of cancer.
Since joining the S&P 500, the company’s stock has surged. At the time of drafting this post, it sits at its highest ever value at $134.42 per share.
Incyte’s headquarters here in Wilmington have physically grown, too (I know this as I can spot the construction from my front porch as I look past the trees). The building is quickly becoming one of the tallest in its area.
Two S&P 500s here in Delaware? That’s good for business.
