Fort Meade, to the south of Baltimore, is Maryland’s largest employer.
According to a new report on cybersecurity in the state from Cassidy Turley: “Fort Meade is currently the largest employer in Maryland with more than 56,000 employees, and is home to the U.S. Cyber Command, the Defense Information Systems Agency and the National Security Agency.”
The Cassidy Turley report was highlighting a well-known fact: the Baltimore region has thousands of cybersecurity jobs, something the first Maryland Cyber Jobs Report pointed out in January.
And, as the Baltimore Business Journal notes, sequestration and a “government spending slowdown” hasn’t impacted Baltimore’s cybersecurity security much: 1,100 cyber jobs have been added since 2011.
