Fitness startup FitMango is testing a new product that designs workouts for personal trainers, and plans to launch it this summer.
Following the Mt. Vernon-based company’s win at the Shore Hatchery Competition, we caught up with CEO Seal-bin Han for a little more on their latest work on bringing tech to training.
“We have developed a software system that allows gym owners to put their personal training programs on auto-pilot,” Han said.
The system generates workout plans by drawing on movements, and lining them up with info about the person and their health info.
“These workouts can then be pushed to the trainer’s phone, where trainers can use our mobile app to walk through the routine with each respective client and collect real-time data about the client’s progress,” Han said.
It’s being tested privately in apartment buildings. FitMango has a partnership with The Bozzuto Group to use its platform to provide personal training to residents of Union Wharf in Fells Point and Spinnaker Bay in Harbor East. Along with helping the company make money, Han said the program has also provided “a testing ground to constantly test and iterate our technology.”
Han said the startup also recently brought on Activate Body owner Ben Supik as chief operating officer, and former Wham City Lights software engineer Charlie McGeorge as head of product. The startup is currently hiring for a software engineer.
