For a company with an international vision, FiscalNote is showing a healthy dose of appetite for the Asian market.
The two-year-old firm, which seeks to predict legislative outcomes through data analytics and artificial intelligence, announced its first acquisition on Thursday: a South Korean firm called MyCandidate.
MyCandidate is a mobile app that aggregates information on South Korean politicians collected by the official National Election Commission.
The company’s founder and CEO, Rebekah Kang, who won the 2013 AngelHack Hackathon in Seoul, is staying on as FiscalNote’s market development manager. According to The Korea Times, she has been a part of the FiscalNote team since February.
