So you have a business idea, but who are your customers? Can you actually build a profitable business model? It all starts with customers.
For entrepreneurs, customer discovery is one of the most important stages in building a new business and validating that business idea. That’s where a marketing plan comes in. That’s also where this workshop from the Emerging Enterprise Center comes in.
The idea is to get the job done in just a little over two hours. Yes, an entire marketing plan in two hours. It should by no means be considered the final draft, but organizers says you will have a solid foundation for your final plan.

Growth Consulting, Inc. President Kay Keenan is leading the workshop. She asks that you to come with your organization’s mission, vision and strategic plan in mind.
Keenan was previously VP of marketing and communications at Big Brothers Big Sisters, when she realized that most of the nonprofits that came in had one fear in common: tackling their marketing plans. When we asked her who this workshop was targeting, she said everyone.
“People will fight the fire that’s currently going on instead of writing a marketing plan,” Keenan said. “The emails that are coming in, the need to deal with an employee issue, the need to reach your goal at the end of the month. Planning is activity that takes away from all of these activities, but you need to do it to be successful.”
We hear that.
The workshop starts Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m.
Registration is $25 for EEC members and $50 for future members. It will be held at the EEC office.
