EasyPaint, D.C.’s own on-demand painting startup, might be only just over one year old, but the company is already hungry for expansion — it just launched a base of operations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
After participating in the TechCrunch Disruption Battlefield Challenge in 2015, EasyPaint decided to stay on the West Coast. Over the next months, the company will expand service in the Bay Area.
EasyPaint is up against Paintzen, a very similar NYC-based on-demand house and office painting service that also operates in San Francisco, D.C. and Boston. Technical.ly profiled Paintzen here. EasyPaint may not have the reach of Paintzen, but the company is touting its industry connections.
CEO Marty Cornish is previously of Sherwin Williams, and new President and COO Denis Abrams is ex-Benjamin Moore. The company also boasts advisors who led previous lives in the executive teams of Five Star Painting and Home Depot.
“Our business is all about genuine relationships and results — you can’t fake it,” Cornish said in a statement about the expansion. “The success we’ve seen in D.C. is a testament to how well we understand the industry, product and demand and we’re excited about what’s to come in other major city markets.”
