Local software company to move into historic Georgetown Post Office

EastBanc acquired the building from the U.S. Post Office last year.

Here’s some symbolism for you: EastBanc, the development company that finagled the purchase of the $4.5 million Georgetown Post Office last year, has announced the historic building’s new tenant.
It will be its affiliate EastBanc Technologies, a software company. But the first floor will still host a post office.
Snail mail is old, and so is this building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When it opened in 1858, it included a Customs House to process imports into Georgetown, which was at the time its own city.
