WHO’S GETTING BUZZ
Activist investor Nelson Peltz — through his investment firm Trian Partners — owns a 2.68 percent stake in DuPont. The News Journal recently reported that Peltz claimed that shareholder return should be 52 percent higher — this is what he reported in his filings through the Securities & Exchange Commission. He recently nominated four directors to the company’s board, which consists of 13 members. The company, The News Journal reports, issued a statement saying Peltz’s plan would disrupt the company’s long-term goals.
The University of Delaware’s Jingyi Yu is exploring Google Glass as a technology that can fit and design prosthetics. WHO’S GETTING FUNDED
AppVirality Inc. — a company originally based in India and registered in Delaware — has raised a seed round from industry investors Rajan Anandan, Mike Galgon, Ravi Gururaj, Ashim Mehra, Mohit Saxena, India Internet Group and TNN Capital, YourStory reports. The plug-and-play growth hacking toolkit for mobile apps was developed and founded by brothers Ram Papineni and Laxman Papineni.
