On-demand drone pilot service provider DroneUp is partnering with Alexandria, Va.-based Vintun to provide drone services for the United States government.

Vintun provides a variety of services for various military and government organizations, according to a press release, including VDaaS, Vintun Drone-as-a-Service.

“VDaaS enables the customer to reduce the inspection cycle, get detailed imagery or other sensor data, enhance worker safety and get accurate data regardless of weather conditions,” Vintun President Greg Early said in the press release. “We are happy to partner with DroneUp on providing these new services to our customers.”

Founded in 2016, DroneUp is the creator of a patent pending platform that organizes drone pilots into a network that serves commercial markets, government agencies, and public safety organizations. Through this partnership that went live today, DroneUp will act as the drone service provider to Vintun.

“DroneUp is excited to partner with Vintun to assist in expanding the federal use of drones. We look forward to providing these valuable services and continuing to expand the drone industry,” Tom Walker, CEO of DroneUp said in a statement.

This announcement comes after CIT Gap Funds recently made an investment in DroneUp.
