N3rd Street is taking over Crane Arts this Friday.
For the closing party of the DesignPhiladelphia festival, the 5,000-square-foot Crane Arts Icebox will be transformed into one huge interactive art installation with 360-degree video projections mapped onto a 12-foot, one-ton sculpture made of material often used for countertops.
Called Lairs of Self in Everyday Life, it’s a project led by Dejha Ti and Indy Hall member Sean Martorana that pulls together work and support from N3rd Street technologists and more, including Indy Hall point man Adam Teterus,web dev firm Jarvus Innovations, ecommerce company WebLinc and makerspace NextFab.
The exhibit will use mobile devices to let partygoers control the projections.
