Technical.ly Baltimore’s Andrew Zaleski sat down with reporter Juliana Reyes of Technical.ly Philly and reporter Brady Dale of Technical.ly Brooklyn for this podcast led by Technical.ly editor Christopher Wink.
Some of the Baltimore-specific highlights:
- Less text, more video: At Inner Harbor-based R2integrated in early March, “storytelling” was the focus of a conversation during Technical.ly Baltimore’s #notatSXSW event. That largely means using large images, original photography and short videos to convey a message online instead of blocks of text.
- Making seamless websites means mobile compatibility. Grid layouts and endless scrolling make the transition from desktop to mobile easy and ensure that pages don’t take a long time to load.
- ‘Device-agnostic’ over native apps. To achieve the above effects, companies small and large seem to be turning to responsive scrolling designs — that work on multiple mobile operating systems — more than native apps.
