‘Delaware Shore’ to make its local debut at Penn Cinema on Jan. 25

Award-winning indie film Delaware Shore – which brought home a Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival (HIMPFF) award for first-time filmmaking and two Los Angeles Film Awards (LAFAs) for Best Indie Filmmaker (Raghav Peri) and Best Score (David C. Hëvvitt) – is coming to Delaware.

The Delaware-based movie from New Castle’s Avocado Media was written, produced and directed by Peri, and based on a novel by Michaelangelo Rodriguez.

Set in the yes-that-actually-exists town of Slaughter Beach, Delaware, the drama follows the story of a Holocaust survivor named Agnes and the two young-adult grandchildren she raised. Filmed on location in Slaughter Beach, it features locally-tied actors, including Gail Wagner, Emily McKinley Hill, and James Robinson Jr.

After a well-received premiere in Los Angeles in December, Delaware Shore is coming to the First State earlier than the expected springtime release: It will make its local debut on Jan. 25 at Penn Cinema Riverfront in Wilmington, and will complete a short run on January 30.
