Philly startup backer David Freschman dead at 52

The prominent Delaware-based investor had backed Philly companies like Sidecar and Alignalytics.

David Freschman, a prominent Delaware-based investor whose firm Innovation Ventures had backed Philly companies like Sidecar and Alignalytics, died of causes related to pancreatic cancer yesterday, a family spokeswoman said. Freschman, 52, founded long-running angel venture fair Early Stage East, which was held in Philly and Delaware.
