The Delaware Burger Battle returns on Saturday for its eighth year, this time at Rockford Park in Wilmington, where 19 local chefs will compete for the Burger Battle trophy.
Founded in 2012 by CrossPro LLC founder JulieAnne Cross, the annual event is a combination of charity fundraising — proceeds from the all-volunteer-run event will benefit the Food Bank of Delaware the ProStart Program of the Delaware Restaurant Association Educational Foundation — and boosting the visibility of Delaware’s local restaurants. It’s also become one of the most popular annual events in the city.
For $50 ($60 at the door if they don’t sell out), you’ll get all the burger samples you can eat, with beer and wine included. Here’s this year’s lineup:
The champs:
- Chelsea Tavern
- Home Grown Cafe
- Maiale Deli and Salumeria
- RedFire Grill + Steakhouse
The challengers:
