Just about a month after opening its private beta to all content creators, K Street-based ICX Media, the video distribution and analytics startup aimed at “democratizing content,” has opened up a second office in New York City.

While the company will remain headquartered in D.C., leaders seem to view it as prudent to have a physical presence where so many video content producers reside.
“This is the ‘Age of the Creator’ and a good portion of that ecosystem, from media companies to brands, agencies and content creators are physically in NYC,” Michael Avon, CEO and cofounder of ICX Media, said in a statement. “As ICX Media’s video technology platform will be at the center of powering that ecosystem, we needed to build a physical presence here.”
In addition to the new office, ICX Media has hired a new, NYC-based, director of business development. David Johnson joins ICX from a role at video inventory management company SpotX.
ICX has raised $2.5 million in seed funding to date in a round that closed in March.
