Another events company is joining Cvent’s portfolio.

The Tysons-based event management platform has acquired San Francisco-based DoubleDutch, a mobile event app maker. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but this acquisition will expand Cvent’s investment in the mobile tech space.

Cvent will add DoubleDutch’s mobile tech to its app offering for onsite event management.

“We are incredibly proud to join the market-leading team at Cvent. With their global reach and scale, we can fuel our passion to change the way people connect, learn, and grow at live events,” Lawrence Coburn, CEO and founder of DoubleDutch, said in a statement.

DoubleDutch was founded in 2010 and has raised nearly $79 million from nine funding rounds since its inception, according to Crunchbase. This acquisition comes after Cvent acquired San Francisco-based Wedding Spot last month and Washington, D.C.-based events planning software company Social Tables in October 2018.

“By adding DoubleDutch’s industry expertise to Cvent, we accelerate our investment in mobile event technology. We are also proud to welcome the talented DoubleDutch team to our more than 4,000 Cventers worldwide. Together, we will continue to drive innovation in how attendees engage at events,” CEO and founder of Cvent Reggie Aggarwal said in the press release.

The news release didn’t disclose further information about how DoubleDutch’s employees will integrate with Cvent’s team, but when the Tysons-based company acquired Wedding Spot, it decided to launch a San Francisco office.

As DC previously reported, Cvent also recently released its plan to hired 1,000 more employees this year across its global locations, just as it did in 2018. The company also recently expanded its Tysons office space, adding 72,000 sq. ft. of space.
