Tucked away in Old City bar National Mechanics, more than 100 gathered on Tuesday night to celebrate the second birthday of the East Coast’s premier coworking space IndyHall along with the 100th episode of Two Guys On Beer, a local beer podcast.
It was Philly’s first foray into fall weather with temperatures dipping in to the high seventies and giving the city a much needed respite from overbearing heat and humidity only a week ago.
Free pints of Flying Dog Brewery’s Dogtoberfest surely didn’t hinder the festive atmosphere.

IndyHall founding members Alex Hillman and Geoff Dimasi gave brief speeches before and after both halves of Two Guys on Beer, Johnny Bilotta and Dave Mortorana, shouted over the crowd while filming the 100th episode of the popular podcast, which has recently landed on the front page of Philly.com’s Beer section.
It’s been two years since IndyHall opened its modest space on Strawberry Street with the hopes of building a coworking community in Philadelphia. In April, the group upgraded to a space twice as large on the second floor of the Daniel Building, also in Old City. Technically Philly covered the notable upgrade and the national attention it received for Philadelphia City Paper and on our site.
Hillman pointed out during the event the great strides that Two Guys on Beer has made since it first debuted, comparing its first clip with its recent slickly-edited coverage of Philly Beer Week.
He also noted that the once-weekly show will now appear twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
