If GrubHub can tell you exactly when your food is coming, you’d think Comcast could do the same with technicians.
Well, the latest feature aboard the company’s My Account app aims to do just that: Tech ETA, a service within the platform developed in-house and rolled out Tuesday, lets you see when technicians are within 30 minutes of your home.
In what’s being billed as an added safety feature, Tech ETA shows users the name of their technician and a supplies a photo for identification purposes.
“We know your time is valuable and we want to help you better plan your day when you have an appointment scheduled with us,” said Charlie Herrin, EVP of Customer Experience for Comcast Cable, in a blog post accompanying the launch of the feature.
Per Comcast, some 12 million customers have used the My Account app since it launched in 2014. Since last fall, the comms giant has been on a push to update its customer service platform, which has faced stiff criticism in recent years.
