Cool job alert: run IT for the City of Newark

With the departure of Joshua Brechbuehl, who has served as IT manager since its division was established in 2013, the City of Newark is looking to fill the position with someone new.
“For the past four years, the City’s IT division played an integral role in developing and implementing innovative technology efforts, allowing staff to be more efficient and effective in their respective roles,” said acting city manager Tom Coleman. “That success is due, in large part, to Josh’s leadership. We wish him well in his next endeavor.”
Coleman said the ideal successor will “continue [to] drive technology changes that keep Newark current with best practices” and focus on increasing cyber security efforts while serving as “strong fiscal stewards”.

The IT Manager’s duties include supervising full-time, part-time and contractual employees. Operations include surveillance camera systems, support for electric, water, sewer and stormwater plus general City operations, including public safety. Five to ten years of of experience in the IT field preferred.
