Cibos, a new mobile app, wants to add context to all those sports tweets in your timeline. In other words, when you see Phillies fans moaning on Twitter, you’ll see a score affixed to the bottom of the tweet and understand what they’re talking about.
Download it for free for iOS or AndroidThe app was founded by Rick Gehman, a LaSalle grad who used to run social media for the Wells Fargo Center, and Kyle Eddins, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based developer. The team raised $75,000 from angel investors, Gehman said.
How does the app work? An algorithm that Gehman, 25, developed by studying tens of thousands of tweets. The duo plans to launch an updated version of the app soon, with a better user interface, Gehman said.
Cibos, which means “feed” in Latin, has seen more than 1,200 downloads in the last four months, said Gehman, who lives in King of Prussia.
