Another visualization by Chris Whong animates more than 32,000 trips riders have taken using Washington, D.C.’s bikeshare program Capital Bikeshare.
The animation shows data from trips over a five-day period last October.

Whong made the animation with the programming language Processing, and the “GeoTrails” for the data were courtesy of Dave Troy, co-founder of Canton-based 410 Labs.
As Technically Baltimore has reported, Whong, the owner of Federal Hill-based Charm City Networks, has put together a number of visualizations and heatmaps. He’s presently completing a master’s degree in urban planning at New York University.
