Betamore, TEDCO partner on Builder Fund Speaker Series

The weekly events will feature entrepreneurs from around the region. The first session is September 19, featuring Amita Shukla.

TEDCO and Betamore are kicking off a weekly speaker series for startups this fall.
The Builder Fund Speaker Series will feature workshops and talks on building a business. The free sessions will be held Wednesday nights at Betamore City Garage. The first session, featuring a workshop titled “Mastering the Entrepreneurial Mindset” led by Amita Shukla, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19, from 3-5 p.m.

Launched in June, TEDCO’s Builder Fund is providing resources for underserved entrepreneurs including pre-seed funding, education programming and support for startups from experienced executives.


Here’s a look at the first three speakers, with info provided by TEDCO:

  • September 19: Amita Shukla, author and founder of Vitamita, will lead a workshop titled “Mastering the Entrepreneurial Mindset,” offering tips on “training the mind to foster agility, resilience, creativity and success.”
  • September 26: George Earl, founder of Corsair’s Ventures, will lead a workshop titled “Developing Meaningful KPI and Measurement Plans for Strategic Planning and Storytelling,” featuring tips for developing an analytic plan to measure business success.
  • October 3: Melissa Bradley, Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Initiative and Executive in Residence at the Kogod School of Business at American University, will give a presentation titled “Value Creation and the Venture Pathway,” on how startups can create value as they begin the process of raising venture money.
