BCAN is combining beats and business for a creative entrepreneurship event

“Gold Rush — Perfect Match Edition," scheduled for March 7 at Brooklyn's Gold Room, features a music producer showcase and legal advice.

The Baltimore Creatives Acceleration Network (BCAN) supports entrepreneurs building creative businesses. At an upcoming event, it’s mixing music with mentorship.

The March 7 event combines a music producer showcase featuring Baltimore club music DJ Mighty Mark (plus surprise special guests) and legal tips for navigating the music industry from Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

“Gold Rush — Perfect Match Edition” will be held at the Gold Room, a music and media studio created by Mighty Mark and Michael Cutty Joseph to bring music exposure and resources to South Baltimore’s Brooklyn neighborhood. The event is free and open to the public.

Launched in 2017 by MICA, BCAN looks to bring entrepreneurship resources to the artists and creators across the city. Through its events, the team puts the talents of the creators themselves at the forefront.

This event will be the second edition of Gold Rush and adds a performance element to the practical knowledge offering.

Update: This article was updated to reflect the correct name of the organization offering legal advice. (3/1/19, 1:53 p.m.)
