The Baltimore Eats for Good digital deal book is now live

The program offers deals at local restaurants. People who buy the coupon booklet support local nonprofits.

Baltimore Eats for Good, the nonprofit that’s looking to urge Baltimoreans to help both local restaurants and local nonprofits, is officially live.
The centerpiece of the campaign is a digital deal book, which can be purchased for $20. It provides deals at local restaurants like Fork & Wrench, HomeSlyce, Brewer’s Art and the Mt. Washington Tavern. Even OrderUp (which was recently bought by Groupon) has an offer.

In turn, nonprofit organizations can sell the deal books to raise money, and promote their work (taking a page from public radio stations nationwide). Among the nonprofits are Goodwill, the Baltimore Humane Society, Code in the Schools, the Baltimore Student Harm Reduction Coalition, Centerstage and others.
In May, campaign creator Justin Kersey of Cake Cause Marketing said he had about 15 nonprofits and a handful of restaurants lined up. By the time Monday night’s launch at Mindgrub’s Locust Point offices arrived, there were about 50 deals and 50 organizations signed on.
Kersey said the group is also looking to launch campaigns in College Park and D.C.
