Tysons-based Applied Insight, a company that designs solutions to help the federal government solve tech problems, launched new platform-as-a-service cloud tech earlier this month.

Coined Altitude, this automated and scalable digital platform is designed to transform cloud management by allowing organizations to tap into a cloud’s full potential while having total control, compliance and visibility over the environment as it grows.

The company said in a news release that Altitude can be quickly deployed and it is compatible to work with multiple cloud service providers. The new platform is being offered as a managed service, and it can be fitted to work with the demands of any federal agency’s cloud environment.

“Working with confidence at scale in the cloud is a widespread challenge across the federal government,” Dede Dascalu, CTO of Applied Insight said in a statement. “The need for robust control and compliance often conflicts with the computing power and agility that the cloud brings. Altitude finally solves that problem by combining scalable cloud management and governance technologies.”

Altitude’s tech includes a secure access to the cloud environment, which includes a suite of shared services for cloud users to tap into in order to perform complex tasks. The company said that the platform has already been deployed and is showing much success with its intelligence and defense agency customers already.

“We’re delighted with the results we’ve achieved for existing users of Altitude, and excited by the potential of bringing this groundbreaking solution to new federal customers,” Applied Insight CEO John Hynes said in a press release.

This product announcement comes a few months after Applied Insight moved its headquarters from Ashburn to Tysons, Va., and also added more than 10 key hires to its leadership team.
