SEED SPOT is looking for social impact entrepreneurs to apply to its fall accelerator program.

The social impact incubator runs its Impact Accelerator each fall and spring to provide social entrepreneurs with support for scaling and attracting investment opportunities. Selected founders will meet twice virtually each week from Oct. 12 to Nov. 19, and the accelerator will culminate in an invite-only pitch event with investors.

“The ventures in this year’s accelerator will represent the impact areas from environmental sustainability to economic empowerment and social justice and lead the next wave of impact-driven entrepreneurs in our country and beyond,” said SEED SPOT CEO C’pher Gresham in a statement.

Participating founders will retain 100% equity in their startups and will have a chance to land some funding at the final pitch event. Hector Ocasio, founder of Pet Connect and a part of SEED SPOT’s third accelerator cohort, landed a $50,000 investment from TEDCO after participating in the incubator’s program.

“SEED SPOT provided Pet Connect with a structure and resources that helped us build the foundation to accelerate the growth of our business and better position us with investors,” Ocasio said.

The early consideration deadline for SEED SPOT’s fourth accelerator cohort is Aug. 19, and the final deadline is Sept. 2.

Apply

Ventures that have been part of SEED SPOT’s programs have raised $50 million in capital and generated $80 million in revenue, the incubator reports. Since social distancing orders were put in place in March, SEED SPOT transitioned all of its programs to virtual in two days’ time to continue to serve entrepreneurs across all of its markets. The incubator awarded $25,000 in prizes to its third cohort at its first virtual demo day back in April.
