In October the Terrapin Hackers from the University of Maryland, College Park, were crowned champions of the fall 2013 season of Major League Hacking.
On Wednesday, a different triumph for undergraduates possibly looking to make it big as startup founders. Members of the hackers got a visit from reddit cofounder and Maryland native Alexis Ohanian, who visited the university’s Startup Shell, a student-run tech collective and coworking space on the College Park campus.
As Ohanian explained earlier in the week at Exec TechBreakfast, he’s visiting 75 different college campuses during his tour to promote his new memoir.
“The Internet’s pretty great. It’s not a fad,” Ohanian said Tuesday. “We’re getting another generation excited about tech entrepreneurship.”
