Arlington, Va.-based Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has launched a podcast series that focuses on how artificial intelligence will impact the federal government.

The podcast, titled Exploring AI in Government, is hosted by AFS CTO Dom Delmolino and listeners can expect to hear from expert AI leaders on how they define AI for the federal government in years to come. Some other coverage areas include how AI will impact citizens, what AI means for the federal workforce and how to create more responsible AI practices.

“Accenture Federal Services decided to launch this podcast series because it is a great platform to share the first-hand experience of the pioneers defining federal AI,” Christine Fuentes, a media rep from AFS, told Technical.ly. “Through this podcast series, Accenture Federal Services aims to showcase its unique ability to address our federal clients’ end-to-end AI needs.”

The first episode was released on July 30, and featured Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX) and Dr. Mona Siddiqui, chief data officer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as they discussed the federal government’s current approach to AI, ethics and its impact on the future workforce. Kathleen Walch, cofounder of AI advisory firm Cognilytica and co-host of the AI Today podcast, serves as the podcast’s guest analyst alongside Delmolino.

“We should have a national strategy on AI that makes sure that we focus on a regulatory environment that doesn’t stifle innovation and that we are creating a skilled workforce prepared to thrive in an AI economy,” Hurd said in the first podcast episode.

The podcast series was recorded here in D.C. at the Government Executive Media Group’s 2G podcast studio, Fuentes said.

This first season will include six episodes which will be available on Apple iTunes and Google Play. AFS has plans to release new episodes approximately every two weeks. Some other notable guests include Craig Fischer from the U.S. Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Gisele Holden from the National Science Foundation and Dr. Eric Daimler, former AI lead within the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
