So far, 2017 has been a year filled with change at 1313 Innovation. Since the beginning of the year, the organization has brought on three new staff members.
“The new team was made on purpose,” Community Manager Megan Anthony said. “It sort of happened with Ryan Harrington heading to CompassRed and going back to school, and with me leaving on maternity.” (It should be noted that Anthony’s three-month-old daughter, Ellie, is already on the innovation circuit. She was spotted at the closing party of Technical.ly’s Philly Tech Week 2017 presented by Comcast.)
Anthony introduced us to the new team and gave us a little insight on what they each bring to the table.

Andrew McConnell, Marketing Coordinator

Along with his marketing duties, he is in charge of finding and developing strategic partnerships for 1313 Innovation and developing its workforce initiative. (McConnell is also the marketing coordinator for McConnell Johnson Real Estate.)
McConnell is from Wilmington and joined the team in March 2017. He is currently working towards his real estate license.

Abdul Alghali, Graphic Design Intern

Alghali graduated in 2017 from Wilmington University with a bachelor’s in digital publishing. His fine arts background helps him create original projects in different styles, genres and textures.

Bailey Brooks, Community Development Coordinator

Brooks is the new point person for 1313’s community. She develops and implements a workforce initiative, while handling various office administration tasks.
Brooks is from Cecil County, Md., and joined the team in January 2017. She graduated in 2016 from Wilmington University with a bachelor’s in psychology and is currently in grad school pursuing a master in public administration.
