Looking for a tech conference to attend in DC? Check out these 16 happening in 2020

As you grow in your career, it’s important to keep learning. One way to do that is by attending conferences.

A variety of conferences, some annual and some new, are hosted throughout the District year round. Specifically for technologists, there are conferences focused on cloud computing, blockchain, digital assets, cybersecurity and more.

Though DC Startup Week is not only for technologists, for instance, it’s a conference that attracts many to its week-long event series. The fifth annual conference takes place in the fall, usually scheduled for September. Consider attending if you an entrepreneur, technologist, investor or just interested in learning more about the startup ecosystem here.

Ranging from one day to a week, here’s a shortlist list of more tech conferences happening in D.C. this year:

• January 12-16: The Transportation Research Board 99th Annual Meeting, which will feature nearly 800 sessions and workshops, including some transportation tech presentations
• Jan. 29-30: The 23rd Annual FAA Commercial Space Transportation Conference, a day-and-a-half-long conference featuring discussions on the current state of commercial space transportation
• Jan. 31-Feb. 2: ShmooCon, a hacker convention and conference with four tracks and speed talks on infosec
• Feb. 6-7: Microsoft Ignite, the multi-city tech conference hosted by Microsoft that will feature technical trainings from the company’s experts across more than 100 workshops
• March 9-12: Satellite 2020, this annual conference focuses on the space industry and this year’s keynote speaker is Elon Musk, founder and chief engineer of SpaceX
• April 13-17, Sharepoint Fest DC, a conference that brings together experts in SharePoint, Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Azure to lead a variety of workshops and sessions
• April 27-29: CRM Evolution 2020, a conference and exhibition that shares trends and tech shaping CRM today
• May 19: CISO Summit, a one-day networking event for chief information security offers to gather and learn from one another
• June 9-10: Information Security Forum, a two-day event for security professionals that features discussions on the sector, including tech advances and emerging challenges
• June 22-24: AI World Government, a three-day forum intended to educate business leaders on ways to implement AI and cognitive tech into their companies
• August 25-27: Next Generation Dx Summit, the twelfth annual event looking to advance the diagnostics industry
• Sept. 1-2: Digital Summit Washington, D.C., a digital marketing conference with speakers from NPR, Facebook, The Motley Fool, National Geographic and more
• Oct. 5-8: Voice Summit, an annual two-day conference centered on voice tech that features a Voicehacks Hackathon, startup exposition and an awards dinner
• Oct. 6: Washington, D.C. CIO Executive Leadership Summit, a one-day event bringing together CIOs to discuss how to implement tech innovation into the companies they work for
• Oct. 19-23: DC Cyber Week 2020, the 10th annual festival hosted by Cyberscoop that features conferences and events centered on cybersecurity
• Nov. 16-19: KMWORLD 2020, a tech conference focused on all facets of knowledge management
