Tweets from fake accounts like @BaltimoreCop, @GovernorHogan and @mdnationalguard were meant to cause trouble, according to ZeroFOX.
According to the Baltimore Sun, employees of the Federal Hill-based cybersecurity company found a host of fake accounts spreading misinformation amid last week’s unrest in Baltimore.
One hashtag — #BALTIMORELOOTCREW — was especially virulent in spreading misinformation.

ZeroFox worked into the night tracing tweets and Facebook accounts that shared photos of looting and violence.
What they found was that much of the activity was coming from well outside of Baltimore, in some cases from Russia, China, India and the Middle East.
