Editor’s note: Every week we ship an email newsletter featuring the region’s most exciting career opportunities. We’ve lovingly called it This Week in Jobs (aka TWIJ — “twidge” — here at Technical.ly). Below is this week’s edition. Here’s the last one we published; it’s meant to live in your inbox. Win or die
We are quickly approaching what will most certainly be — and we aren’t being even remotely overly dramatic by saying this — THE defining event of our generation: the final season of Game of Thrones.
On April 14, millions of loyal followers (aka: geeks) will unite to watch the conclusion to this gripping saga.
If you think it’s too late to snag authentic GoT garb off of Etsy for your viewing parties, you know nothing, Jon Snow. Case in point, check out this completely reasonable $1,048 replica fur coat a la Daenerys Targaryen. Paying rent is overrated and for non-fans!
Moving on. How about fighting for the honor to sit at a desk at one of the tech companies below?
The news
We’re only one month away from Philly Tech Week 2019 presented by Comcast which includes the tech fan favorite Dev Conference on Wednesday, May 8. It would be impossible to oversell this event, but allow us to try: There will be hands-on workshops! There will be an innovation showroom! There will be an illustrious lineup of speakers! And, because we know what the people want, there will of course be food and drinks. Here’s just the start of what you can expect.
Piggybacking on the aforementioned PTW19 news, we’re also adding a fun kick to our Kickoff Festival taking place at First Friday in Old City on May 3. There will be a scavenger hunt! There will be … oh wait, we already did this. Philly-based app designer and official partner in kickoff fun and games, Scavify, has designed a PTW19 scavenger hunt with chances to win prizes like tickets to PTW19 community events, gadgets, experiences, gift bags and more. Learn more and register here.
Lastly, Philly-born, Brooklyn-based ecommerce consultancy SUMO Heavy has come home. Lured back by nostalgia and logistical stuff like cost, the 15-person company is leaving NYC to settle into a 2,000-square-foot space in the heart of Old City. Cofounder and CEO Bart Mroz says that Philly’s cost of living and of doing business will allow the company to add new roles to its team. Interested? Reach out here.

The end
Thank you again for another beautiful week of job hunting with us. Although we recognize this process comes with a unique set of challenges and frustrations, at least it’s more promising than standing atop the ice cold Wall, cloaked in an extremely heavy, but undeniably *cool-looking black cape.
Don’t forget, if you haven’t found a job you’re looking for in today’s newsletter, you can scour the full list anytime of day right here. Happy job hunting.
*P.S. Note to self: Buy a cape.
