A group of 20 grads from the Philly chapter of New York Code + Design Academy spent last Friday afternoon getting some insight into the dev life at RevZilla HQ in the Navy Yard.
The ecommerce shop for biking enthusiasts, which just recently played host to another group of developers, hooked the newly-minted devs up with a tour of the company’s headquarters, led by in-house code-slinger Lindsay Nauman and recruiting coordinator Becca Scuderi.
The cohort weaved through the office, asking questions on how code and software was involved in each department. Highly geeky topics like APIs and CRMs were part of the discussion. To wrap up the day, the cohort joined a Q&A with tech team and CTO Nick Auger.
“Hosting the recent graduates of New York Code + Design Academy and sponsoring events like RailsBridge PHL enable us to support Philadelphia’s growing tech community,” said Nauman, who is also one of the organizers behind Rails Bridge Philadelphia.
Getting a big, engaging welcome to the dev community from a local outfit is not the worst initiation experience we’ve ever heard.
