Collaboration between a pair of D.C.–area tech companies in one recent rollout of new platform features.
Earlier in April, Tysons Corner, Va.–based Microstrategy released that latest version of its Microstrategy 10 platform.
The business intelligence software contains new mapping capabilities, known as Geospatial Services. It’s the result of a partnership with Mapbox, recently relocated within D.C.

According to a blog post from Mapbox, the tools allow Microstrategy users to apply analytics to explore large datasets, including real-time location data and geospatial data. The tools help organize data within geographic boundaries, and zoom in at different levels to analyze for trends.
“The power to visualize real-time location data at scale is critically important for MicroStrategy and its customers,” said Mapbox CEO Eric Gundersen said in a statement. “With location data transforming the way people and goods move around the world, the new MicroStrategy Geospatial Services features allow businesses to make location data-driven decisions that can transform their operations and impact their bottom line.”
The Mapbox integration is one of a host of new features Microstrategy rolled out. A new mobile app to visualize data dossiers was also among the additions.
